Utah Storytelling Events

Welcome Message and Opportunities

Though this message was sent on October 17th, there were some urgent cancellations due to the H1N1 threat.  The following events are postponed until after the flu season:
1.  October 19th--Concert with Syd Lieberman
2.  October 21st--Workshop with Syd Lieberman
3.  October 19th-25th--Timpanogos Storytelling Festival Intensive with Syd Lieberman

Also note that Laurie Allen's Frankenstein piece will NOT take place at the Bountiful Library on October 21st but will take place in 2010.

Give yourself chills as you attend some amazing Utah storytelling events.

If you know any events that are open to the public, then please email me.  Deadline to submit is every 1st and 15th of the month.

Out of 12 fringe slots for the 2010 National Storytelling Conference, two were awarded to Utah people:  Rachel Hedman and Carol Esterreicher.  They won out of 101 people.  Plan to go to Los Angeles from July 30-31 to support them.

From October 22-23, Angela Lloyd from California is teaching workshops in connection with the Weber State University Storytelling Festival.  All are geared to educators and parents who work with youth, though all are welcome.  Details below.

Then, on October 23-24, there is the 3rd Annual Kanab Storytelling Festival complete with cemetery walks and dutch oven storytelling. More details below.

Besides this email list, receive tips, trends, and storytelling games through the new monthly e-newsletter called "The Rachel Response: Storytelling Adventures". You can sign-up for this free at the homepage of http://www.rachelhedman.com.  Click here for glimpse of 1st issue.
