Monday, April 1, 2019--
Deadline for professional storytellers from anywhere to submit an online application plus at least one 4-8-minute story and 15-20-minute story to be considered as one of two spots during the 2019 Timpanogos Storytelling Festival. This is the Timp Tell 2019: New Voices Showcase with more details/application here: https://tinyurl.com/y2eomr7y
Ongoing Until Filled--Volunteers
Provo Pioneer Village is starting a storytelling evening on Monday nights throughout the summer - June through August. Elaine Brewster is seeking tellers who would each like to come tell on a Monday night (6-7 pm).
The telling will be outside under a canopy—intimate enough for small groups, but open enough for a larger group. If it rains, we can duck into the Carriage House. Our sweet little Village is located in Provo on 5th West between 5th and 6th North. This telling evening gives an opportunity to tell old tales or Pioneer tales. But people of that era simply told stories, so really, any story, even personal stories, would be appropriate. The point is for people to get together in the
“old-fashioned tradition” of listening to stories. There are 13 Mondays in the summer, so I can only accommodate 13 tellers. It is volunteer. First come, first served. If interested, contact Elaine at brewstersinger@me.com.
Ongoing until May 14, 2019--
Registration is open for Noa Baum's 5-hour workshop "Risking Peace: Storytelling to Open Dialogue" for educators, storytellers, clergy, healing professions, community leaders, and interfaith activists. Workshop will be on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in Draper, UT. Fee is $100, includes catered lunch. Go here for details and to find

This was the old fashioned hard-rock mining days. His father and brothers owned the mines. They lived in a small town in Nevada and spent time out in the mountains.
