Twice Upon a Time: Folk & Fairy Tales--best for ages 8+

These two tellers transport people with their humor, drama, and flair.  While Jan C. Smith represented the Western Region at the 2017 National Storytelling Conference concert, Suzanne Hudson led the Utah Storytelling Guild and performed in venues across the state and beyond.  Now see how these two story artists transform folk and fairy tales to hit home for today's world.  Stories are best for ages 8 and older.

The Bee

Event:  The Bee True Stories from the Hive!, competitive storytelling for ages 21+ (partly to content, partly to drinks available)


Date:  Friday, October 6, 2017, Doors open at 6:00pm, stories start at 7:00pm and lasts towards 10:00pm


Featured Tellers:  Ten storytellers picked at random from a hat has five minutes each to tell a true story on the theme of the night "Great Outdoors" without notes

Encounters from the "Other World":  Celtic Stories & Songs--best for teens and adults

Travel back in time as Glastonbury Duo plays music from the Celtic countries, Tudor England, or Renaissance Europe.  Carol and Dave Sharp play many kinds of music, including haunting harp and flute, songs of long ago, and rousing dance tunes.  Glastonbury Duo includes period costumes, hand carved instruments, and storytelling, with elements of culture, history and language.  Instruments include a hand carved Celtic Harp, Bowed Psaltery, Irish Flute, Whistles, Recorders, Alto Cornamuse, Zils, Bodhran, Tambourine, Schietholtz or Epinette.  Vocals are sung in Gaelic, Welsh, and English.
