--Three Free Ways to Enjoy Storytelling--

1.  Tell & Record Your Own in a Thirty-Minute Family Video, 2 or more family members to ask each other questions, receive copy of video saved to your flashdrive (bring it with you), takes place at Fillmore City Mayor's Office

2.  Tell in Tandem Grand Storytelling--Grandparent or Parent & Child, grandparent/parent & child interview each other about stories from their own lives.  While telling on stage you may interrupt each other to correct details or bring in humor.  Be audio recorded.  Top stories may be featured at 5pm on County Council Chamber Stage.  Free workshop to prepare, if desired, on Friday, September 11th from 7:00pm-9:00pm at City Council Chamber

3.  Hear Professional Story & Music Concerts that Celebrate Utah Heritage, takes place on Saturday from 10:00am-Noon & 1:00pm-3:00pm with top amateurs/war veterans from 3:00pm-3:30pm, then end with professional from 3:30pm-4:00pm at Fillmore County Council Chamber

Event:  Utah Youth Storytelling Showcase, connected to National Youth Storytelling Showcase

Live Audition Date/Time:  Tuesday, October 13, 2015, 6:00pm 

Wanted Tellers:  Youth tellers ranging from K-12th grade

Story Length for Youth Tellers:  5-10 minutes

Invited:  Families are invited to this state-level event that determines who will represent Utah for the National Youth Storytelling Showcase.  K-12 students are encouraged to perform.  Stories are 5-10 minutes.

Judging Criteria:  Focus on storyteller, story, and storytelling elements (most points awarded for "connection with audience")--NO READING!

Cost:  Free, open to all as general public can come whether or not you have youth participating

Location:   Gale Center of History and Culture Museum, 10300 S. Beckstead Lane (1600 West), South Jordan, UT
