Please Enjoy Our 2025 Annual
Report!
Click the cover image above—or HERE—to explore Story Crossroads' 2025 Annual Report. Like arts and humanities organizations across the country, Story Crossroads faced unexpected funding reductions in 2025. In response, we reimagined our programs, reducing the cost of our annual Summit & Festival from approximately $30,000 to $10,000 while continuing to provide high-quality, accessible storytelling experiences. We also ended the year
on an encouraging note. Story Crossroads was honored to receive a $25,000 National Endowment for the Arts America250 grant to support programming in 2026, along with an additional $10,000 National Endowment for the Arts grant for 2027. These investments strengthen our ability to foster creative and compassionate communities through the art of storytelling for years to come.

Our Mid-Year Campaign begins Wednesday, July 1. The past year reminded us that arts organizations must be both resilient and innovative. Rather than spending precious dollars on a traditional fundraising mailing, we're reaching out digitally so more of
every contribution supports storytelling experiences. Your gift helps sustain our programs through the coming year while building a strong foundation for 2027 and beyond. Together, we can ensure that stories continue to connect, inspire, and strengthen our communities.
The Summer issue "Cerulean Sighs" is now available to enjoy! The Story Beast e-publication is seeking your stories, articles, and art for our Fall issue, Cascading
Colors—submissions close August 15, 2026. Have you ever stumbled into a story born from a happy accident,
an unexpected encounter, or a wild idea that appeared out of nowhere—like a color spilling beyond its edges? Maybe “Cascading Colors” itself brushed past you and left a trail of unexpected inspiration. Whether your work flows seamlessly with the theme or wanders into delightfully unexpected hues, we invite you to let your imagination unfurl in vibrant, cascading waves. We also summon spooky stories to be submitted! Separate from Story Crossroads, The Story Beast is a free, worldwide e-publication—an incredible platform to share your work with a global audience. Submit by August 15 and let your story
sparkle. Learn more at storybeast.org.
On June 6, 2026, Ilene Evans inspired storytellers to move
beyond historical facts and discover the heart of the people behind them. People praised the workshop for exceeding expectations and providing practical tools they immediately began applying to their own stories. For past workshop recordings or for upcoming ones, go to http://storycrossroads.org/AllThingsStory. On June 20,
2026, Steffani Raff turned storytelling into an interactive adventure as audiences voted on every twist and turn—from choosing which place to stay the night to deciding whether to trust a talking fox! Laughter, surprises, and spirited participation made every performance a one-of-a-kind experience. For past streams to upcoming house concerts, go to http://storycrossroads.org/HouseConcerts.
As for future events, we have several coming up. Our next virtual workshop will be MyLinda Butterworth (July 11). Our 103rd
house concert will feature David Bullock (July 20). Around the corner is the free Story Camp for ages 8-17 in Salt Lake City, Utah (August 5-7) guided by Nannette Guest Watts and Cassie Ashton.
