Steffani Raff's Wink & Why We Love It
4th Annual Signal Listener's Choice Award – Vote for the World’s Best Podcasts! Steffani Raff’s new bedtime storytelling podcast, Wink, is a finalist for Best Sleep Podcast—and it’s the only storytelling podcast nominated! Not only will it help others discover this free, magical podcast, but it will also support its continued creation. It only takes a minute: visit Signal Awards Voting,
select Wink, enter your email, create a password, and verify your vote (check Spam just in case). Steffani has been an incredible collaborator with Story
Crossroads, from 16-hour workshops condensed into 90-minute gems to performances at our Festival, house concerts, and more. Let’s show our gratitude and help this program that blends storytelling and mindfulness reach even more hearts. Vote for Wink before Thursday, October 9th! SLCC Forum on Stories – Delayed
for Security Reasons
We were thrilled to bring a Story Crossroads booth and our Story Walk to Salt Lake Community College for this year’s Big
Questions Forum, “A Story Big Enough For All of Us.” It would have been a week of storytelling, reflection, and connection across the Taylorsville Redwood Campus. Out of caution following the incident at Utah Valley University, the forum and Story Walk are temporarily postponed. Many campuses in Utah and across the U.S. are making similar security adjustments. Our thoughts and condolences go out to anyone affected by violence, including mass shootings. We look forward to sharing new dates soon and celebrating storytelling with the community as soon as it’s safe.
Timpanogos & Reunion of Peter
Cook |
Peter Cook, one of our featured artists at the 2024 Story Crossroads Summit & Festival, returned to Utah this year for his first-ever
Timpanogos Storytelling Festival—and it won’t be his last! Audiences quickly discovered what we already knew: Peter is simply fantastic beyond words, spoken or signed. While at Timpanogos, Peter also introduced us to a key influencer in the Deaf community, opening doors for future collaborations that bring Deaf and Hearing performers and audiences together in powerful storytelling experiences.
The Fall 2025 issue came out for The Story Beast e-pub
so check it out! The theme is Quirky Quandaries. Submissions are open for Frosted Glass until November 15, 2025. Send us your stories, articles, or artwork—theme-related or not! Have a tale about "surviving your art" through mishaps or strange encounters? Or a story tied to Frosted Glass? We’d love to see it! Though separate from Story Crossroads, The Story Beast is a free, worldwide publication. Learn more at storybeast.org.
On September 1, 2025, we celebrated the 5-year anniversary of
the All Things Virtual workshop series. We kicked it off on Labor Day in 2020 and have always held September's offering on Labor Day ever since. Who can we thank? Simon Brooks! In 2020, Simon Brooks helped storytellers shine on screen with tips on lighting, backdrops, and digital presence. In 2025, he shared his journey to full-time storytelling, inspiring participants to embrace opportunities and say “YES!” His 2020 and 2025 workshops are available as well as other past workshops by other phenemonal people to order at http://storycrossroads.org/AllThingsStory.
As for future events, we have several coming up. We have virtual workshops with Paige Funk (October 11), Csenge Zalka (November 1), and then Daniel Morden (December 6). Our 95th house concert will feature Laurie Allen (October 23).

Enjoy this hint of the next virtual workshop taught by Paige Funk called "Adding Simple Songs to Your Stories Using Basic Music Theory Principles." See more videos at our YouTube Channel.
If you or someone you know has a story video that you want us to see, then let us know by emailing info@storycrossroads.org.
