Matching Our Goal...and Stretching It!
We are deeply moved by your incredible support. Our initial goal was to raise $2,025 by December 30, 2024, and once that goal was met, your
generosity inspired us to aim even higher—to $2,525, symbolizing a "double 2025" (25-25). With only $327 left to reach this new milestone, it's still within reach!  Thanks to you, the stories of Karl Behling, Jeff Driggs, Cherie Davis, Cynthia Robey, Paige Funk, Wayne Kartchner, Peter Cook, and many talented youth will continue to be shared and celebrated as well as more stories yet to be discovered. None of this would be possible without you—thank you!
1st Field Trips "in the books" for 2025
Since last month of announcing that registration was open for our Story Crossroads Summit & Festival, we've had some schools officially commit
to coming. We are excited to feature fantastic people such as the Twin Poets (Al Mills and Nnamdi Chukwuocha), Rachel Dunstan Muller, Tiffani Dean, Sam Payne, and others on May 5-8, 2025. You can join in-person, virtual, or both. Â Click on the image above to check out the schedule and be register yourself at storycrossroads.org/festival. |
Story Facilitator
Training Success
We celebrate the successful launch of our first Story Facilitator Training on December 18, 2024, marking a key milestone in the
debut of our Story Crossroads Mentee Program. This initiative began with the dedication of our first two volunteers, Chris Morrison and KC Bailey, who embraced their roles as pioneers. After specialized training from Rachel Hedman, our Executive Director, they will lead a 10-week storytelling program with 4th and 5th grade students as part of an after-school program at Moss Elementary in Utah. Â The Story Crossroads Mentee Program invites individuals aged 18+ to embark on a journey of personal and professional growth while making a meaningful impact in underfunded schools. Participants have the opportunity to lead storytelling arts programs, earn
stipends, expand their skills through professional training, and access exclusive benefits. Thanks to trailblazers like Chris and KC, this program is empowering more people to use storytelling as a tool for education, connection, and change. "Whirling Winds" issue came out December 15, 2024!  The "Growing Gab" issue is calling for submissions of stories, articles, or art—theme-related or not—due by February 15, 2025. Do you have a paragraph or more of
how you "survived your art" through either an embarrassing or strange moment? Or any true, original, or folkloric stories that links to "Growing Gab"? We welcome your submissions.  Though this is a separate entity from Story Crossroads, we’re excited to see this free e-publication available globally. All details can be found at storybeast.org. Notably, the Story Crossroads Executive Director launched this initiative, collaborating with a fantastic team to bring it to life. Â
On December 7, 2024, John Abrams excelled in teaching both emerging and experienced story artists and magicians the critical value of meeting audience expectations while incorporating creative ideas. His patient and engaging approach ensured a lasting impact, equipping them to achieve sustained success
through adaptability and audience focus. This workshop and other past ones can be ordered at http://storycrossroads.org/AllThingsStory. On December 16, 2024, Janine Evans delivered a captivating performance of Yuletide Tales of Christmas, weaving
old European Christmas stories that transported audiences into a world of imagination and tradition. Her heartfelt storytelling, including the poignant tale of a determined prisoner crafting a violin, offered a rich blend of nostalgia, inspiration, and festive spirit. You can explore past streams--like Janine's--as well as the upcoming house concerts at http://storycrossroads.org/HouseConcerts.
As for future events, we have at least two every month.  We have Rachel Hedman teaching a virtual workshop (January 4). Paul Boruff with Dark Fiddle will be performing for our 88th House Concert (January 10). Â
