We do celebrate the art of storytelling through film, whether developed by us or by others. In preparation for the 9th Summit & Festival in May, we premiere some pieces on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 as part of the virtual field trip ticket (and part of anyone's ticket). One of
these film projects involves the Hatch Family - Richard (story magician), Rosemary (violinist), and Jonathan (pianist). With multi-cameras and an intriguing venue, you'll simply want to get your Early Bird tickets. We will also film storyteller/visual artist Mark Gollaher, poet/storyteller Franque Bains, Award-winning Deaf storyteller Peter Cook, and J.J. Reneaux Emerging Artist winner Laura Deal. Meanwhile, our February 20, 2024 House Concert (79th one, by the way)
will be more like a behind-the-scenes event with the "I Be a Witch" film that is being shown across Utah and beyond. Join Lori and Omar Hansen as well as Matthew and Cherie Julander as they recount the journey this film has taken: from Lori’s one-woman storytelling show to Cherie’s screenplay adaptation of it and everything in between. With Story Crossroads, we do like a blend--or be at the crossroads--with different art forms.
Yes, we did have Paul Strickland teach a 1 1/2 hour virtual workshop on April 15, 2023. But many people wished for a 5-hour version. Wish
granted! On Friday, March 1, 2024, Paul will dive deeper into "Collage Techniques in Storytelling" from 9:30am-2:30pm MST (UTC -7). While virtual-live is
best, all registrants will receive the video/audio recordings. If you attended that April 15, 2023 original workshop or are a current dues-paying member of
Story Crossroads (individual or through an organization), then there is a code for a reduced tuition. Email info@storycrossroads.org for that code.

National Storytelling Conference
January 31, 2024 at 11am CST / 10am MST is when Early Bird registration begins for the National Storytelling Conference. Story Crossroads is an organizational member of the National Storytelling Network. We know many of our own members will be attending. If you let us know of
your attendance...we have a surprise for you. Complete your registration with NSN and email us at info@storycrossroads.org. You'll be offered a choice in that surprise.

Did you hear about the new parts coming called "Surviving My Art" as well as "That's Amazing!" For "Surviving My Art," folks share their experiences about when things didn't work out so well. It is meant to be a humorous look about the disasters we put up with for our art. For "That's Amazing!,"
folks interview performers of an amazing performance and get the performer's insights. Each issue of The Story Beast e-publication has a theme that people can connect to...or not. All past issues can be found on The Story Beast website. We would love your submissions for our 2024 quarterly issues.
We have upcoming themes for 2024 such as "Stepping Stones" (due Feb. 15, 2024); "Chaotic Creations" (due May 15, 2024); "Flavored Fright" (due August 15, 2024); and "Whirling Winds" (due November 15, 2024). While this is a different entity than Story Crossroads, we are pleased to see this e-publication that is available for free for anyone and all over the world. All details can be found at storybeast.org. And...the Story
Crossroads Executive Director happens to be the one that launched the idea and worked along amazing people to have it come to pass. You can subscribe to the Beastly Blog and/or the YouTube Channel.
On December 29, 2024, Wayne Kartchner and Karl Behling shared fractured fairy tales and even involved audience members for a twist on a classic tale. We've also had Cassie Ashton perform on January 19, 2024. She featured may bold yet everyday people in history and inspired us to look at ourselves.
You can view both of these streams on YouTube or at http://storycrossroads.org/HouseConcerts. On January 6, 2024, Rachel Hedman taught the importance of websites and how to increase online presence by understanding the biggest needs these days and discover patterns and habits to celebrate as
well as what can be improved. You can order this workshop as well as past recordings at http://storycrossroads.org/AllThingsStory (scroll to bottom).
As for future events, we have at least two every month. We have Pam Faro teaching a virtual workshop (February 3) and "I Be a Witch" Visionaries presenting for our 79th House Concert
(February 20).

Enjoy an interview with Pam Faro about the upcoming virtual workshop "Embodying Your Stories." Also hear some words from Paul Strickland on his return to Story Crossroads with a 5-hour virtual workshop. See more videos at our YouTube Channel.
If you or someone you know has a story video that you want us to see, then let us know by emailing info@storycrossroads.org.
