Celebration of Babcock Collaboration
We had "Spooks, Spells and Specters" at the Whitmore Library in the Salt Lake Valley, Utah with the invitation from Babcock Performing Readers. We had "The Cask of Amontillado" by Edgar Allan Poe as well as a scene of "Macbeth" by Shakespeare. From our story artists, we had a mix of urban and folklore as
well as stories inspired from personal experiences. Many people, including from Babcock, had a first-time experience with Story Crossroads...or even oral storytelling. The following Babcock people performed: Brad Nygren, Tim Lineback, Kathleen Atkinson, Warren Tharp, Robyn Bishop, Julie Blatter, Tina Simpson, Enid Atkinson. The following story artists representing Story Crossroads performed: Lynn Wing, Cassie Ashton, Nannette
Watts.
Helping with Outreaches for NABS
While the 41st In The Tradition...National Annual Black Storytelling Festival and Conference is in Salt Lake City, Utah, we have been busy
getting outreaches together as a way to roll out the welcome mat. The following outreaches were thanks to Story Crossroads efforts: Little Critters Daycare, Jordan Hills Elementary, Joel P. Jensen Middle School, Bennion Jr. High, and Reid School. We may have more magic and hope to confirm a few more venues including the Salt Lake Detention Center and Primary Children's Hospital. See you there? November 6 through November 12, 2023 will be outreaches with the conference on November 8-12. The event is co-hosted by NSOUL (Nubian Storytellers of Utah Leadership). Being that Salt Lake County is a major geographic zone of Story Crossroads, we
are putting out the welcome alongside NSOUL and many other organizations. Even beyond the outreach
Adopt-A-Teller Program, you can attend the Conference itself. Go! We'll see you there!

Really? 75th House Concert and Onward
We remember when it was the first house concert...back in December 2015. We did scary stories even then told by Julie Barnson. Though, for three different Octobers including the one on October 26, 2023, Bradley Mackay has performed chilling original tales. He premiered "Vessels of Desire," a horror romance
piece that was a one-hour spine-tingling sensation. You can still watch this house concert as well as past streams (that we started in January 2023) at http://storycrossroads.org/HouseConcerts or through our YouTube Channel under the "Live" tab. Some streams are available any time and some are time-based depending on permissions from the story artists. So...we'll see you in-person or streaming for our 76th and beyond house concerts? Great!

The Story Beast e-pub...came out Sept. 15, 2023
You can also submit art, articles, and stories by November 13, 2023 for the December 15, 2023 issue. Still, all past issues can be found on The
Story Beast website. While this is a different entity than Story Crossroads, we are pleased to see this e-publication that is available for free for anyone and all over the world. All details can be found at storybeast.org. And...the Story Crossroads Executive Director happens to be the one that launched the idea and worked along amazing people to have it come to pass. You can subscribe to the Beastly Blog and/or the YouTube Channel.
On October 19, 2023, we had the privilege to join forces with Babcock Performing Readers with a performance at the Whitmore Library. These details were shared above. We look forward to future collaborations. On October 21, 2023, Cooper Braun revealed his successes (and failures)
to what has now gained him the largest consistent virtual storytelling concert audiences in the world. We even made some adjustments for Story Crossroads. You can order this workshop as well as past recordings at http://storycrossroads.org/AllThingsStory (scroll to bottom). On
October 26, 2023, we celebrated our 75th House Concert featuring Bradley Mackay. We shared more details above. As we do live-stream events, you have no excuse. Find these past events as well as future ones at http://storycrossroads.org/HouseConcerts.
As for future events, we have at least two every month. Click button below for what's next from Csenge Zalka teaching (November 4) to our 76th House Concert featuring Ramona Lucius with
Hands-On Folktales (November 30).

We are thrilled for Csenge Zalka, Ph.D. to teach "I Never Liked That Story Anyway" Tinkering with folktales that don't click on Saturday, November 4. Enjoy this interview with her on what to expect.
