A Surprise Award...Blog & Video coming
We write a lot of grant applications. Yet, this one was written by another person outside of Story Crossroads. Story Crossroads was nominated for the Goodness Grant through
Awardco. As part of this celebration, a blog post from Awardco will come out Tuesday, June 27 as well as a professionally filmed piece by their team. Be on the look out!
Pleasant Grove Library Celebration
On June 6, 2023 we celebrated storytelling with three youth tellers (Amber, Izzy, and Eve) and a professional story artist, Stephen Gashler. We had a full room with over 40 people at the Pleasant Grove Library. This was our second year here and appears to be an annual tradition from now

Story Walk at Utah Arts Festival
Excited to go on a Story Walk similar to what we do for the Summit & Festival? We are adapting this tradition to be part of the Utah Arts Festival from June 23-25, 2023. We are combining with the Salt Lake Community Writing Center in the downtown Salt Lake Library Square. Isn't it lovely when oral and written storytelling combines forces? Build your story! |
The Story Beast e-pub...deadline August 1, 2023
"Bright Babblings" came out for The Story Beast e-pub on June 15, 2023. As a heads up, the next deadline is August 1, 2023 with the theme "Under the Tome and Tomb." Whether or not you submit, spread the word. Enjoy the already published issues. While this is a different entity than
Story Crossroads, we are pleased to see this e-publication that is available for free for anyone and all over the world. All details can be found at storybeast.org. And...the Story Crossroads Executive Director happens to be the one that launched the idea and worked along amazing people to have it come to pass. You can subscribe to the Beastly Blog and/or the YouTube Channel.
On June 3, 2023, Casadie Smith shared how to be sensitive and ethical stories mixed. The details and care in the presentation was felt by all. You can order this workshop as well as past recordings at http://storycrossroads.org/AllThingsStory (scroll to bottom). We are in process of turning in grant reports for our 8th annual hybrid Story Crossroads Summit & Festival. While it took place May 8-11, 2023, people could view the 28 recordings to June 15, 2023. While numbers do not share individual stories, here are some details: 738 (includes Monday-Tuesday, May 8-9, 2023) 185 (virtual field trips) - 940 views 720 (outreach numbers) Known Impact = 1,643 Look forward to the 9th one on May 13-16, 2024! As for future events, we have at least two every month. Click button below for what's next from Karl Behling performing (June 30) and Shonaleigh teaching (July 15). Going to the Utah Arts Festival? Take our Story Walk Challenge. |
We are thrilled for Shonaleigh to teach "Treasures of the Tradition" on July 15. Get hints of what to expect (and share). See more videos at our YouTube
