Talking with...Weber State University & businesses
We had our first of many chats with Weber State University that also links for its festival. We both celebrate youth storytelling, but we brainstormed more ways to link together while building each other up. Our next meeting comes in January 2023 to transform a brainstorm to action. Picture shows Rachel Hedman
talking with Dan Hubler with WSU. Meanwhile, Ramona Lucius and William Boardman are exploring what businesses to connect for Story Crossroads with win-win possibilities. Thank you to all! |
Welcoming Holly Robison to Board
Holly Robison has history with Story Crossroads already. She performed as part of the inaugural Story Crossroads Festival in 2016 and then returned in 2022. But even more importantly, she founded the Murray Storytelling Showcase that feeds into Story Crossroads along with Mary Ann Kirk. When she moved from Utah
to Oregon, we missed Holly. Thanks to virtual ways of having meetings and adventures, we welcome Holly now on the organizing part of things. She has wonderful experience with youth storytellers and is part of our Story Training & Telling Committee with some duties specific to determine our line-ups. She will have a special focus on the youth. We always need to remember our youth. |
The Story Beast e-pub - 5th issue! free & taking submissions
Enjoy in magazine style OR download the pdf. While this is a different entity than Story Crossroads, we are pleased to see this e-publication that is available for free for anyone and all over the world. You can enjoy the articles, short
stories, poems, and art...or you can submit pieces to be considered. All details can be found at storybeast.org. And...the Story Crossroads Executive Director happens to be the one that launched the idea and worked along amazing people to have it come to pass.
On November 5, 2022, Lyn Ford taught on how to face those adventures on or off stage that could either build our resiliance...or do something else. People shared their struggles and triumphs led beautifully by Lyn. You can still order past workshops for recordings/handouts ( storycrossroads.org/AllThingsStory - scroll to bottom) On November 11, 2022, Karl Behling performed stories to appreciate what the patriots faced during the Revolutionary War. It was special to hear these stories on Veterans Day. On top of this fact, this was our 65th house concert. We thank the Groneman Family who hosted for the first time...and we
expect many more hostings in the future. If you have Facebook, you can see pictures and thoughts from Carrie Groneman. As for future events, we have at least two every month. Click button below for what's next from Misty Mator teaching (Dec. 3) and Mary Louise Hughes performing (Dec. 13). |
We are thrilled for Misty Mator to teach a virtual workshop on Saturday, December 3, 2022 on "Interactive Storytelling for Young Children." Hear this interview and hints of what to expect. See more videos at our YouTube Channel.
If you or someone you know has a story video that you want us to see, then let us know by emailing info@storycrossroads.org.
