Understand Past, Present & Future of Storytelling
Every year - from 2022 onwards - we will have a Keynote and State of the Art Addresses. These help us understand what is happening for the past, present, and future of storytelling in different cultures and groups. Holly Robison will tell us about the next generation of storytellers. Then, we have three sharing
thoughts and reports at our Summit & Festival: Thomas Mitchell from the Utah Council for the Blind (Blind Storytelling); Charlotte Starks from the Nubian Storytellers of Utah Leadership/National Association of Black Storytellers (Black Storytelling); and Eileen Quintana - pictured above - from the Nebo Title VI Indian Education Program (Navajo Storytelling). Appreciate Literature & History Through Stories
We introduce "Story Education Bites" - almost a crash course within 20-30 minutes - to encourage class or individual discussions afterwards. Dr. Michelle Gibbs shares "Storytelling Elements in Zora Neale Hurston's novel Their Eyes Were Watching God" while Dr. Martha Bayless reveals "Secrets of Medieval
Storytelling."

Did you know there are two events that are completely free to join? Whether attending one or both, you can enjoy "Language of Story: Korean," a YouTube
live-streamed academic discussion/question and answer with Dr. Jeong Ae Park as well as "Storytelling in the Classroom" Zoom workshop taught by Karl Behling on Thursday, May 12. Now, if you get the Summit & Festival ticket, these two tickets are included.

Have you worked with At-Risk Youth? Or wish to? Join this hybrid 5-hour workshop with Lorna MacDonald Czarnota on Monday, May 9 from 9:30am - 2:3pm MDT
