Artists Standing Strong Together and Story Crossroads have entered into an adventure to offer a workshop combined with performance opportunity. While we are hosting the workshop, ASST are hosting the performance. Oni Lasana will teach "You Can Do Dunbar! Add him to your repertoire" on February 12, 2022 as part of our regular All Things Story series. Then, those participants can qualify to perform a virtual performance of Paul Laurence Dunbar works on June 11, 2022.

 

We hope to coordinate our Story Artists Memorial and their monthly Sacred Storytelling virtual performances that honor those who have passed on.

We share appreciation for the Utah Division of Arts & Museums and Utah Legislature for the Creative Aging grant. Starting February 1, 2022, we will have a 10-week program at a senior independent living complete with a performance and celebration at the end.

 

We are excited that the Salt Lake City Arts Council shared funding to combine with our ZAP grant (Salt Lake County) with a 6-week program starting March 31, 2022 within Mountain View Elementary and Glendale Middle School as well as the Glendale Community Center and Glendale Library.

On December 29, 2021, Paige Funk shared solstice, season, and star stories outside with a bigger-than-we-thought audience of our 57th house concert. Then, on January 8, 2022, Rachel Hedman (Executive Director) shared "Grant Writing for Storytellers" and raised $820 towards our project of having "Storytelling Basics in 8 Hours" be turned into Spanish. We will continue to fundraise for this throughout 2022 with hopes to film in 2023. Yet, the response was so nice that we are doing a follow-up to that workshop on February 19, 2022. People can order the first part and/or jump into this second part.
